Serge Gracieux built this 1/32 model of Altair. It is currently on display at the Cité de l'Espace in Toulouse, France. Here are a few words from Serge explaining the construction of the model
" For a few weeks I have been searching information on the new Altair lunar module on the web. What interested me was primarily the structure of the descent stage that looked like the one of the original lunar module! I started to draw this structure and quickly went to 3D rendering by simply using toothpicks and kebab skewers. After completing this it was too tempting to continue with the ascent stage.
The most challenging part was to make the carbon rendering. For some other aspect as the ladder for instance, the information was not too clear and I had to make-up my own vision.
This represents the Lunar Design Analysis Cycle 1 (LDAC 1) - delta. Its is already different from the LDAC 2 version and will probably be very different from the actual Altair module that will eventually land on the Moon. "
